Telegram bot setup

What is not available

Multi-channel flow automation, lists, and templates are not available for Telegram in the current product. Stay within text, media, buttons, and keyword replies.

Create a bot

• Open @BotFather in Telegram.
• Send /newbot.
• Choose a display name and a username ending in bot.
• Copy the bot token BotFather shows you.

Connect in Chatly HQ

• Open Channels → Telegram.
• Paste the bot token into the field on the Telegram page.
• Save and use Test connection when available.
• Keep the token private — never share it in chat, email, or screenshots sent to others.

Reconnect

If the bot stops working after a token reset in BotFather, paste the new token and test again. Revoke compromised tokens in BotFather immediately.
